This document describes the Open-Xchange Admin SOAP Interface and gives some brief examples on how to use it.
The SOAP service communicates with the Admin Daemon using the RMI interface. In fact, the Admin SOAP service is just a mapper between RMI and SOAP.

In order to use the SOAP Interface of the Open-Xchange Admin Daemon, you need the Open-Xchange Server and the Axis2 bundle. The SOAP Interface is a service that must be deployed into the Axis2 Bundle.
For more information about the Axis2 bundle, please refer to the Quick-OX-Axis2-Integration-Overview document, that ships with the Axis2 bundle.
The default configuration of the Admin SOAP service expects the Admin
Daemon to be accessible on localhost. To change this behaviour, the
file
/opt/open-xchange/etc/admindaemon/plugin/open-xchange-admin-soap.properties
must changed accordingly. Just set RMI_HOSTNAME to something
different.
To check whether the Admin SOAP service is installed and working, point your browser to the URL http://localhost/servlet/axis2/services/OXContextService?wsdl
It should display the WSDL (Web Services Description Language) file of the OXContextService. This file can also be used to find out what kind of SOAP calls exist for each of the modules.
If that does not work, check the logfile of the Open-Xchange Server.

SOAP::LiteAll examples just line out the operation specific code that has to be
written. A working example ships with the SOAP Bundle (refer to
perl-example.pl).
The examples are using the SOAP::Lite perl module. Documentation
specific to that module can be found within this module or online at
http://www.soaplite.com/.
All examples require a credential object, where we need to
differentiate between so called master credentials and context
credentials. The master credentials SOAP objects will be named
$masterCreds and the context credential objects will be named
$ctxCreds in this document and within the example code.
In addition, all code examples commonly use $nameSpace and
$baseURL, which are required to create a SOAP client object.

Parameters containing dates must have a special syntax as documented in the Axis2 source code:
the lexical representation of the date time as follows
'-'? yyyy '-' mm '-' dd 'T' hh ':' mm ':' ss ('.' s+)? (zzzzzz)?
see org.apache.axis2.databinding.utils.ConverterUtil.java as shipped with the Axis2 source code for more details.
The user object contains two paramaters representing dates,
birthday and anniversary. Both parameters only require year,
month and day to be set, so the rest of the string will be ignored and
not saved within the database, but Axis2 requires the complete string
to be set as documented above.
Another special case is the handling of the guiPreferences setting, for this the setting guiPreferencesForSoap has to be used, see the example below.
In all other cases the Java-RMI documentation is the reference, especially for the user object.
See JavadocSo for imap and smtp servers the attribute takes the whole url, see example below. The port and schema fields cannot be set as the setters in Java are missing, SOAP and WSDL just have no mechanism to represent read-only and write-only fields.
If you want to read the imap and smtp server settings, you have to use the three fields schema, port and server and combine them to get the whole url. So the imapServer field on a getData call will contain only the hostname and not the url.

To change data only the data to be changed must be send to the server. The reference to the entry is either it's numerical ID or it's name.
